On 4.12.99 an open day of the Association for Home Schooling will be held at the General Smuts High School, in Vereeniging (see map ). Several activities are planned for the day. The Annual General Meeting of the Association will also be taking place.

For the children and for all who would like to join in there will be athletics during the early morning, and an exhibition of projects by home-schooled children during the day.

For the parents there will be an exhibition of the various curriculum providers as well as Dynamis and other service providers to the home schooling community, and secondhand books will be for sale. Home schoolers are also invited to come and sell their own products.

The following workshops will be offered:

  1. How to get started – Kathy le Cordeur, an experienced home schooling mom, helps less experienced home schoolers to get started.
  2. How to keep going: More experienced home schoolers exchange ideas. Chairman: Frikkie Marx, an experience home schooling dad
  3. Officials on the war path – Information on home schooling law with Leendert van Oostrum, executive officer of the Pestalozzi Trust legal defence fund for home education.
Food and refreshments will be for sale.

Registration: From 08h30.

Fees:

Admission: Members of the Association and Pestalozzi Trust: R20 per family. From 12h00: Free.

Members of the public: R60 per family. From 12h00: R40 per family.
